Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor R. Frankl. The author speaks about finding purpose in life as the key to personal happiness and wellbeing. Very fitting for being stuck on an island.

DOROTHY RENZI, CAIB—Independent Insurance Managers
A bit about you?
I work at Independent Insurance Managers in Mississauga as Chief Operating Officer & Partner. I’m a mom to three boys, so when I’m not in the office you’ll often find me chauffeuring them around to various sports.

The Institute by Stephen King. It’s one of those books you can’t put down. It can keep me entertained for hours.

MARK ORLECKI—Petley-Hare Limited Insurance Brokers

Even though I have trouble following Ikea instructions, I’m going to risk it and go with Tom Brown’s Field Guide to Wilderness Survival. How hard can it be?

MEGAN MCCARTNEY—Nicol Insurance

A bit about you?
I’m born and raised in Thunder Bay. I’m very dedicated to my job and the many other community boards I sit on. I’m a big family person. I’m Italian! So family’s important. I’m a passionate Leafs fan, more enthusiastically so when we make it out of the first round.

Favorite pastime?
Golfing, being in my community by officiating and helping the younger hockey crowds, and playing scrub hockey.

Desert island read?
Tiger Woods by Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyianis. It’s very motivating and shows how life can affect you but doesn’t have to stop you from greatness.

SCOTT SLEIGHTHOLM, H.B. Comm, CAIB—Kenny Insurance Brokers
A bit about you?
I’m the Principal Broker at Kenny Insurance Brokers in St. Thomas and London. Born in St. Thomas but spent 15 years in Ottawa at school and working in insurance. Then moved back to the St. Thomas area in 2016 to come into the family brokerage.

Favorite pastime?
Hanging out with the family. My son Caleb is just over two years old, so it’s amazing to unwind from work and hang out with him, my fiancé and our puppers.

Desert island read?
The Chris Farley Show. The man is one of my favourite actors and comedians. Reading the biography as told by friends and family is both heartwarming and hilarious. It’d bring all the joy while stranded on a desert island.
