Who We Are

A not-for-profit, membership-based organization acting on behalf of Ontario’s insurance brokerages, large and small. Our collective strength allows us to shape industry strategy and regulation, build on the quality of the broker profession, raise public awareness of the broker value proposition and advocate for brokers and consumers across Ontario.

How We Support You

As the voice of Ontario’s broker channel, we represent the interests of brokers and the consumers they serve with all levels of government and business partners across the province. We collaborate with regulators, key decision-makers and influencers. Through grassroots campaigns we use our collective strength to broaden our reach, expand our message and ensure brokers are heard. Our consumer-focused awareness initiatives highlight the broker value proposition and influence recruitment to the channel.

Advocacy

We deliver valuable education to support brokers throughout their careers. To accommodate all learning styles, licensing and national designation programs are offered in-class, online and through self-study options. Continuing education webinars and eLearning courses can be taken anywhere, anytime. IBAO Members receive free access to exclusive, Members-only courses and discounts on industry-leading education. Through annual events we offer professional development, celebrate broker excellence and connect brokers to the larger insurance industry.

Education & Collaboration

We offer Members-only discounts in employee benefit programs, E&O insurance and technology offerings. We provide free access to professional services including financial management, legal counsel and human resources. We leverage industry experts to build trend forecasts and industry benchmarks. We act as a dashboard for all insurance inquiries and share association initiatives and industry news through eNewsletters, The Ontario Broker magazine and across social media and digital platforms
