Formerly the Two–Week Prep Course, this is the most efficient format to prepare for the RIBO Level I exam. For individuals with limited industry experience. Students are guided through insurance fundamentals, principles of indemnity, insurable interest, personal property, personal auto and the Registered Insurance Broker (RIB) Act. Students can write their RIBO exam the week following the course. Students must book their RIBO Exam here.
IN-PERSON LEARNING
Starting 2023, in-person learning will be available for certain weekday classes ONLY if a minimum of 10 in-person registrations have been met. If this threshold is not met, students will be notified and transferred by default to the virtual option instead. Weekend classes will no longer be offering the in-person option.HEALTH & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
IBAO is committed to upholding government policies and procedures around health and safety of its learners, instructors and staff. As policies change, IBAO will change with them. MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS
DIONNE BOWERS FCIP, CRM
Dionne is a dynamic individual with over twenty years of progressive experience in the insurance industry. She operates her own Consulting business, which focuses on training and development solutions for insurance professionals. Dionne is a Co-Founder of the Canadian Association of Black Insurance Professionals; a non-profit organization primarily focused on Advocacy, Mentorship, Education and Networking for individuals in the insurance industry or who are looking to pursue a career in this industry. A graduate from the University of Ottawa, Sheridan College and the Insurance Institute (FCIP, CIP and CRM through the University of Toronto), Dionne has a strong passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others. “The more you know, the more you grow.”

MICHAEL CARBERRY — CAIB
Mike is a Past President of the IBAO and a well connected broker within Ontario’s marketplace. Famous for coming to class with new, relevant headlines, research papers and anything that goes that extra mile to highlight the impact of insurance on everyday life, Mike keeps it fresh with a mix of real life examples and a dash of good humour.

Sam Jazayeri, CAIB
Sam is a Broker & the Director of Operations at PrimeService Insurance. Sam has a passion for utilizing education & technology to enable his team, the Broker community, and consumers to succeed. Sam has created & led several eLearning programs and facilitated events for Broker Associations across the country. Sam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and was previously the Young Broker Territory Leader with the IBAO for Toronto & York Region.

KELSEY HAZELTON — HBA, CIP, CPIB
Kelsey has over six years of insurance experience and has taken countless continuing education courses throughout her career. First to obtain the CIP designation and most recently writing the final exam towards the CPIB designation through IBAO. Prior to her career in insurance, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. Currently, she works at McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers (Winner of the IBAO Brokerage of the Year – Over 25 Brokers award in 2022) and sits on the board of directors at our London affiliate association – LIBA.
