Ryan Purssell, Commercial Producer at Mink Insurance, joins us as this year’s 2017 Young Brokers Council (YBC) President. IBAO: What was your first job?
RYAN: Flipping burgers at Harvey’s. I called this job “inspiration for higher education.”
IBAO: What does a typical work day look like for you?
RYAN: Very sales orientated mixed with non-stop emails and phone calls.
IBAO: What’s the best thing about your job?
RYAN: Solving problems, providing peace of mind and putting smiles on people’s faces.
IBAO: How would colleagues describe you?
RYAN: Hard working, detail-oriented and fun to have in the office.
IBAO: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
RYAN: I’m a musician. I’ve played in several bands over the years.
IBAO: What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
RYAN: Final Tragically Hip Tour, 2016.
IBAO: In a movie of your life, what celebrity would play you?
RYAN: Jack Johnson, although he’s more of a musician than an actor…
IBAO: Is it better to be perfect and late, or good and on time?
RYAN: Oooh…tough one to choose, but I’m never late!
IBAO: What was your best learning experience?
RYAN: Life itself; we’re always learning from past mistakes.
IBAO: What’s your biggest career aspiration?
RYAN: To own and grow my own brokerage.
