(Toronto, Ontario) The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) is pleased to announce the
launch of new e-learning courses on Cannabis to prepare for full legalization on October 17th, 2018.
“IBAO has launched the Understanding Cannabis Legalization courses to align with the professional needs of brokers in the Ontario marketplace,” said IBAO Education Supervisor and Instructional Designer, Kevin O’Hare.
“As this is new territory for everyone in the industry, it’s important to us that brokers are knowledgeable and well informed when it comes to every impact Cannabis Legalization will have on insurance,” said IBAO CEO, Colin Simpson.
These courses are free to members and are available to non-members for a small fee. There are three versions of Understanding Cannabis Legalization available — Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and a longer version that includes information from both.
We’ve also created the following handouts on cannabis legalization that are included with those courses and are also available to IBAO Members in our Resource Library:

- Sample HR Policy

“It’s essential that we deliver the most up-to-date information on this topic to brokers because of the
vital role they will play in educating the public on the insurance implications of cannabis legalization,” said O’Hare.
