(Toronto, ON) The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) is going on the road April 10–13 to meet with members across the province. These town hall meetings are an opportunity to bring the IBAO membership together for open discussion on what’s taking place in the industry.

“It’s important we come together on significant issues in order to achieve best outcomes for the broker channel,” said IBAO CEO Colin Simpson. “Between driverless cars, auto reform, technology and changing consumer needs, there are many developments we want to get in front of our membership with.”

While meetings provide industry and association updates, they also offer a platform for members to raise issues and voice concerns. “One of the exciting things this year is the ability for members to comment on the future of the IBAO,” Simpson said. “We look forward to Regional Meetings where we can connect with members to hear what’s on their mind, and determine how we can best support them going forward.”

New this year, the GTA event April 10th includes a free morning of RIBO accredited education sponsored by Travelers Canada. Dr. Karyn Gordon, 2016 IBAO Convention speaker and Founder of DK Leadership, is presenting Next Gen Talent in the Broker Channel; Candybox CEO Darrell Keezer is presenting Digital Marketing in the Broker Channel. “These presentations focus on key areas of opportunity for brokers: attracting top talent and implementing digital acquisition strategies,” said Simpson.

“Staying relevant in a changing insurance landscape takes work,” said Lucy Hathaway, Vice President, Sales & Distribution, Travelers Canada. “Attracting and retaining top talent and keeping pace with digital opportunities and emerging technologies that are changing consumer needs and expectations are two of the biggest challenges facing both insurers and brokerages. Travelers Canada is pleased to sponsor these esteemed speakers to help brokers future-proof their business and look for new opportunities to offer value to their customers.”

“Sponsor support demonstrates a vested interest in the broker channel,” said Simpson. “We invite all members to attend GTA’s session to learn how to optimize human capital and learn the strategies and tactics behind successful digital campaigns that will help your brokerage grow.”
