(Toronto, Ontario) The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) is hosting their annual Young Brokers Conference June 7–9 in Niagara Falls. New this year, the conference features a team competition where young brokers will work together to present a winning business case to an esteemed panel of judges.

“This year we wanted to bring people together in a different way,” said YBC President Ryan Purssell. “Our Young Brokers Conference has always been a great event – always high energy, always high enthusiasm – but we wanted to connect a bit differently. We’re leveraging the case study method to bring practical execution to the agenda.”

Using the details of a fictional brokerage as their foundation, young brokers will be asked to develop a growth strategy based on the presented case and information gathered from speakers.

“Industry experts will be joining us from Kanetix, CSIO, Gore Mutual, the T-R Group and Mitchell & Whale Insurance Brokers,” said IBAO CEO Colin Simpson. “Key areas of focus this year include efficiency and technology, consumer marketing, growth, retention and talent. Learning about these areas in a practical environment and being able to immediately apply that knowledge will be of great benefit to young brokers. ”

Key sponsors of this year’s event include:

* Travelers Canada –sponsoring the Opening Night Party
* Trillium Mutual – awarding a $5,000 cash prize to the winning team

Other event sponsors include Portage Mutual, Kanetix, Complete Restoration Services and the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).

“We’re pleased that Travelers Canada is continuing their tradition of hosting our Opening Night Party,” said Simpson. “We also want to thank our Magenta sponsors for their support – Arthur J. Gallagher, BCI Benefits Coordinators, Economical, Intact Insurance and RSA.”
