The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) is pleased to announce a new partnership with WICC Ontario, a provincial chapter of Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC).

WICC was founded in 1996 to raise funds for cancer research and education. By mobilizing the Canadian insurance industry, WICC has raised more than $16.5 million since its inception.

As a Community Partner of WICC Ontario, IBAO will promote WICC Ontario initiatives to its membership and the broker community at large through its various communication channels.

“Everyone knows someone affected by cancer—that’s certainly true for the team here at the IBAO,” said Director of Operations Brett Boadway. “WICC is a very important cause. We’re proud to align with the industry by supporting these worthwhile initiatives and contributing to WICC’s efforts.”

WICC Ontario raises funds through numerous means, primarily by hosting events such as golf tournaments in Toronto and Ottawa, an annual Gala dinner and the Relay for Life Toronto walkathon. Produced in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, this year’s Relay has raised more than $380,000 to date.

“We’re very glad to have IBAO as a new partner,” said Marilyn Horrick, Co-Chair, WICC Ontario. “Not only do they provide direct support to WICC, they have a very large membership who regularly gives back to their communities. They’re a welcome addition to our network of supporters.”
