(Toronto, Ontario) The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) concluded its Young Brokers Conference in Niagara Falls today with the announcement of its case competition winner. New this year, young brokers participated in a team competition – a case study on a fictional brokerage based in Brockville. Teams were tasked with developing a one-year growth plan and defining opportunities and organizational changes that support successful execution.
The objective of the competition component, in its inaugural year, was for young brokers to immediately apply the knowledge presented at the outset of the conference and leverage details from the case to increase their policies in force. Presentations from subject matter experts included:
* Consumer Marketing – options, cost of implementation and timelines for creating successful brand and digital presence (presented by Kanetix)
* Efficiency + Technology – available tools and technology solutions, average costs and implementation timelines (presented by CSIO)
* Growth – leveraging data, cost per acquisition, sales targets and strategies (presented by Mitchell & Whale)
* Retention – using personalization and technology tools to retain business, measure efforts and understand associated costs (presented by Gore Mutual)
* Talent – creating culture, hiring the right mix of skills and personality and the costs involved in attracting and retaining top talent (presented by the T-R Group)
Over 120 young brokers participated in this year’s event. The winning team comprised 20 individuals from across the province:
